Why Unisex Clothes Just Don’t Work

Back in the seventies or eighties, clothing manufacturers started pushing ‘unisex’ clothes. It caught on for a little while, but it didn’t last. Instead, women started wearing men’s clothes and accessories, while men just stuck with men’s.
Some good things have come out of that era. Men are no longer limited to short hair and they don’t have to all wear the same suit to the office. Men even wear jewelry today, including necklaces and earrings. Their choice of jewelry is limited, though. A man wouldn’t be caught dead in a sexy pair of women’s rhodium earrings. Men usually stick to just one stud earring.
Women, on the other hand, can wear whatever they feel like wearing. A woman might even choose to wear a bulky men’s sports watch and it might look sexy on her. There’s nothing sexy about a dainty watch on a man, though.
When it comes to jewelry, a jewelry set just doesn’t do anything for a man’s image. He can wear both a necklace and earrings, but they should never look like they came from the same source. Usually, a man will wear a necklace he bought when he was backpacking or one that has symbolic value to him. He will never buy a set just because it looks nice. That’s what women do. Women buy jewelry sets all the time and they look great. It’s just not done with men, though.
